Casino!
Please save the dates of March 10–11 and consider volunteering your time to work a casino in support of Mount Royal. This is our biggest fundraising opportunity, and all funds go directly back to the school—directly benefiting your child!
Davison Orchard Fundraiser
This is a final reminder that our Mount Royal School apple fundraiser in collaboration with Davison Orchards is wrapping up today (October 1) – but the deadline has been extended to Midnight!
If you have not had a chance to place your order yet, now is the time! Every purchase makes a difference, and your support directly benefits our students. Each 15 lb. box is filled with hand-packed, premium Okanagan apples.
Please also consider asking your friends, neighbours, and family to join in. A quick share goes a long way in helping us reach our goal!
Apple deliveries are still scheduled for Thursday, October 23. Delivery location details (at or near Mount Royal School) will be shared directly with buyers once finalized.

Sports & Activities
- Other Activities – Students are encouraged to get involved in extracurricular opportunities such as Speech & Debate, Science Fair, and more. There’s something for everyone!
- Soccer – Both our boys’ and girls’ teams continue to practice and compete, showing great improvement! The season runs until the end of October, weather permitting.
- Basketball – Teams have been working hard in preparation for games against other schools. Boys’ games take place on Wednesdays, and girls’ games on Thursdays, with the goal of competing in the city finals in late November.
- Spectators – A reminder that all student spectators must be accompanied by an adult at athletic events, as per junior high athletic association guidelines (this applies at all schools).
School Council & Parent Society Meeting – AGM
The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 26 at 6:00 PM and will run for approximately one hour. It was wonderful to see new faces along with returning members at our last meeting. All parents are welcome to attend any of the meetings to support our Mount Royal school community.
Meet the Teacher
Thank you to everyone who attended Meet the Teacher. From the feedback we’ve received from parents, students, and staff, the evening was a great success. If you have additional feedback, please email me, at clmckelvie@cbe.ab.ca, as we are always looking for ways to improve.
Kamp Kiwanis Grade 9 Students Mandatory Parent meeting
Grade 9 students attending the upcoming Kamp Kiwanis overnight trips must have a parent/guardian attend an information meeting. Parents who were not present at the first meeting should have received an email invitation to a second session. If you did not receive an email, or if you have questions, please reach out to Ms. B Basaraba at hlbasaraba@cbe.ab.ca.
Please note: this is the final opportunity for parents to attend. A parent/guardian must attend in order for their child to participate in camp. This experience is a highlight for our grade 9 students, and we are excited for another memorable trip!
Volunteering
We have begun planning our field trips this year to enrich student learning. To make these trips possible, we need parent volunteers. Please consider obtaining a police clearance and helping out. More information can be found in your MyCBE account.
