November Update | Soccer, Remembrance Day, Fall Break

As we move into the month of November, I wanted to take this opportunity to share some updates, information, and reminders in regards to important dates.

Our Mount Royal soccer teams had a very successful season.  Our boy’s team was in 1st place and our girl’s team was in 3rd place before the season came to an abrupt end. Unfortunately, the season was cut short by the snowfall in October and the playoffs were cancelled.  Congratulations to both of our teams for a great season.  Our basketball teams are still practicing and competing with semi-finals taking place on November 16 which will determine if they get to compete for first place the next evening. Our band program brought in clinicians to work with some of our students and our grade 9 sailing meeting took place confirming that our trip will be happening in April for those interested students.

Our Remembrance Day assembly will be taking place the morning of Wednesday November 8.  All students will be attending the assembly and we encourage students to wear a poppy for this important occurrence. The school has some poppies available for students with all donations going to our Royal Canadian Legion.  We are also collecting food donations for our Veterans.

New this year to the CBE is our Fall Break. Students will be off of school from Thursday November 9th through Tuesday November 14th, returning to school on Wednesday November 15.   All of our staff will be on break from November 10 – November 14 and the school will be closed. We hope that everyone will have a chance to rest and rejuvenate during this time.

Our school council is working hard to raise money to support our students and our school.  Please be sure to read through the emails in regards to fundraising and direct donations and reach out if you have questions.
