January Highlights
January was a busy and exciting month! Our focus remains on supporting students in achieving both academic success and overall well-being. This month, we celebrate the dedication and hard work of our students and teachers. Report cards are an important tool for keeping families informed about academic progress, and encourage you to review them with your child. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher.
Some key highlights included:
- A whole-school field trip to Mount Royal University, where students watched university volleyball games and participated in wellness activities.
- Our Student Wellness Teamattended a Wellness Symposium, gaining valuable insight and planning activities to enhance students' sense of belonging at our school.
- Report cards were made available on MyCBE, and updated IPPs were sent home for students who have them.
- Our Open House was a great success, with around 200 people in attendance! The lottery draw to determine next year's incoming students will take place on February 12.
Student Reminders
Students are expected to attend class regularly, arrive on time, and come prepared to learn. Turning off computers and phones by 9:00pm, waking up at a consistent time, having breakfast and arriving to school early are all ways for parents to support their child's success in school. For more information:
We recognize that it can be challenging for those who leave campus at lunch to return on time, but we are reminding students that punctuality is essential.
We have also received community concerns about student behavior in local businesses, particularly at McDonald's. We are reminding students to:
- Cleanup after themselves.
- Only enter restaurants and businesses if they intend to make a purchase. Be mindful of their language and behavior out of respect for other patrons.
We would appreciate parents reinforcing these expectations with their children.
